Valuable Information For Doing Paid Email!
What Do These Terms Mean, GPTR, PTR, PTC, PTS and PTP.
GPTR and PTR- Terms are the abbreviation for GET PAID TO READ and PAID TO READ. This term is used for the recieving of email where you must click on a link in the email to get paid. Once the clicked on link opens, usually a page with a timer at the top will be displayed. As soon as the timer has counted down, a confirmation text will appear notifying you that you have been paid. Sometimes you will have to click an additional link after the timer has counted down to get paid. Make sure and read the text where the counter was displayed before closing out the page, it will inform you if you have been paid or if you need to click an additional link. The emails will often times contain several links you can click on. Each site will set up these emails differently. Read the email carefully to find the paid link. You may encounter cheat links and Captcha codes. These are explained below.
PTC - Term is the abbreviation for PAID TO CLICK. These are links that are found within the site, usually under a link that says, PTC. Find the PTC link and click it to bring up the PTC page. On this page you will find links and banners that you will get paid for when you click on them. Usually these links will have timers at the top of the page. Once the timer counts down, you will receive a text notification that you have been paid. Sometimes you will have to click an additional link after the timer has counted down to get paid. Make sure and read the text where the counter was displayed before closing out the page, it will inform you if you have been paid or if you need to click an additional link.
PTS - Term is the abbreviation for PAID TO SEARCH. This term is used for email that contains a link that requires searching. It is not a link that you just let load, get paid and then close out. The advertiser for this link will not get paid unless you do a complete search. If you do not do a complete search and the advertiser is not geting paid, they will quit advertising....resulting in no paid links for you. A valid search is when you click on the link in the email and a page comes up with search terms. You then need to pick a search term from this page and click on it which will give you a search result page, pick a search result link, click it and let it load.....you have now done a valid search. If you do not do valid searches, the sites that provide search emails usually stop sending you paid email.
PTP - Term is the abbreviation for PAID TO PROMOTE. Most sites offer this option only if you have paid to upgrade your membership. A PTR site will collect advertisements and list them on a page. A member of their site can post (promote) this page and when someone clicks on it, they will receive a small amount of cash or credit. Sorry, I have never done Paid To Promote and can not offer any further information.
Am I On A Proxy?
I upgraded from regular dial up to high speed dial up, not realizing I was on a Proxy server and my membership was deleted from at least 4 good sites that I had some referrals on. Don't let this happen to you!A proxy server is used when networking computers together, so if you are reading paid email at work or from linked computers you are probably on a proxy server. High speed dial up Internet connections also use proxy servers. If you are using high speed, turn off the high speed to read the email. You can check if you are on a proxy server at this link Proxy-Test. If you get caught using a proxy server after the site has specified that no proxy is allowed, your account will be deleted, usually without warning or an explanation. The 'nicer' sites will send out a warning email telling you that you are using a proxy.
What Are Cheat Links, Cheatbot Codes And Captcha Codes?
Do not click on cheat links. If the Cheatbot code is not complete, refresh the page. Your membership can be deleted! An important thing you should know is that most sites have cheatbot codes and cheat emails. The cheatbot codes are pictures of numbers and you must click on the correct set of numbers to proceed. It is important not to click the matching number until all numbers have loaded. Clicking on the wrong number more than once can get your account deleted. You will have to check each individual site to see how many times you are allowed to 'accidentally' click a wrong code before being deleted. It is also important that if the codes do not match any of the choices, to refresh the page...DO NOT CLICK IF THERE IS NOT A MATCHING NUMBER. This assures the site that there is actually a human reading the email and not a robot program. A cheat email will tell you NOT to click on a link in that e-mail. These cheat links are usually at the bottom of the email, but some sites will send out an email with nothing but the cheat code. Read everything carefully unless you want to get your account deleted. If you accidently click on a cheat email, you will need to notify the webmaster immediately to let them know. Most of these email programs use an invisible cheat link that is only readable by a robot. If you are not using a robot, you do not have to worry about clicking on one of these 'invisible' links. A Captcha Code requires that you type a correct combination of letters and or numbers in a provided space to continue to the next page. If the code is correct, you will be directed to the next page. If the code is incorrect, the same page will load again with a notification that the code entered was incorrect and it will provide you with a new Captcha code. You usaully get three tries to get this code correct. Some sites will lock your account after three incorrect tries and send out an email that requires that you click on an activation link to unlock your account.
Site Inbox
Email And Site InboxIf you are going to choose the option of send to your email address, I recommend signing up for a new email account just for this purpose. The best email program for this is gmail (Google). To use the Site Inbox, you must go to the site and sign in. Then look for the Inbox link and click on it. You will see a list of links with a check mark next to each link. This is your Site Inbox and the links are your paid email. Check out the Site Inbox page....it's pretty easy to use, easy to understand and almost all Site Inboxes are identical. I prefer using the Site Inbox only. Not all of the emails made it to my email program, the Site Inbox assures that you never miss a paid email. Some Email accounts also have a limit on how many emails you can receive in a given time. Using the Site Inbox also keeps your email account from going over it's limit.
How To Do Referrals
Getting paid to click on links is great, but getting paid for someone else clicking on links is even better! After signing up for a paid email site, you will get a referral link. Really, you will...and you will find it under a link that says Referral. What are referrals? When someone clicks on your referral link and signs up, you will get paid a percentage of that person's future activity and clicks on the site. It is usually called a downline and your downline, or referred persons, will be displayed on your Earnings Page. Sounds great, but how do you get referrals......by copying the codes from the referral page and pasting them onto a 'new' page or site. This new page will need visitors, so now you will need to advertise the link. The most successful way to get referrals is to get a free website and paste all your codes on it....then advertise that page....just like mine. There is a link on my main page that will take you to several free webhosts. If you are new to webpage building, make sure the site has a webpage builder tool. Also make sure that advertising is allowed and try to find one with a higher bandwidth that will allow more visitors. Do not over advertise your webpage by listing it on too many sites at one time....if you exceed the allowed bandwidth, your visitors will just get an error message and will not be able to view your webpage! You can also advertise a single referral link on another PTR site.....using some of those accumulated points:). Sounds too easy, depends on your experience....this can get confusing for a newbie and it does require some hard work!
Let's find your personal referral page on your selected PTR site by signing into your site and clicking the referral link. A page will open that will look similar to this:
Your Personal Referral Link:
Text Link: Lisa's Cat Lover's Pages
Copy these codes....highlight the stuff in the white box, right click to copy ( or use Ctrl & C). If you have IE7 or Firefox, opening 2 tabs to do the copying and pasting is the easiest. If not, find your notepad on your computer and click on it. Paste the text in the notepad. The text code is easy, but usually the site gives you at least 2 different banners. Select the banner code you like best and paste that code in your notepad. Save this document and give it a name you will recognize and put the saved notepad document somewhere on your computer where you can find it. When you are ready to advertise, you will need to find the saved notebook file and copy and paste the codes.
It is best to use the text code on webpages that you create that contain several referral links from many sites. The banners take too long to load and most of your visitors will move on and close out the window before all the banners show up! The text links will load quickly and you are more likely to get sign-ups. Giving a brief and honest description of the site is a big plus!
The banner links are great for use as advertising on PTR sites. Choose the PTR site you want to advertise your refferal link on. Sign into this site and click the Redeem or Redemption link. I have the best luck with the Paid To Click and the Banner Links. Choose the type of advertising you want (the link should be highlighted and clickable, if not, you do not have enough cash or points to choose this ). Once you have clicked on the link, you will come to a page that asks you to list your advertisement information. If there is only one space to fill in the link, you are in luck and you can simply paste the entire code in the box. If there are two seperate boxes for the Site URL and the Banner URL, you would be better off using your personal referral link only (see above, the top white box link). Where the ad asks for a description, use the name of the site and paste your personal referral link in the Site URL box. Leave the Banner URL box empty.
The webmaster should let you know when your advertising has been posted. You will be able to view your advertising by signing into the site and then clicking on the link that says Advertising Stats. Get ready for a possible disappointment....if you get 1 or 2 referrals, you did great! It takes a lot of advertising, patience and time to build a large downline/referral.
Do I Need Virus And Spyware Protection To Do Paid To Read?
To Earn And Get Paid...No.....To Protect Your Computer...YesIt Would Be A Very Good Idea!!!!!!!!! I very rarely find a problem, but when I do....I'm glad I have protection!
I Never Received My Sign Up Email
Oh boy, can this be agitating after you took days to figure out what site you wanted to sign up with! You found a site that looked fantastic and decided to sign up. You entered your sign up email in the box and waited for the email to arrive....but it never did! Yep, this happens. You can do two things, try to sign up again or contact the webmaster. I usually find both of these to be useless! If you get a response from the webmaster, it's usually because your email client blocked the email. Try again after 48 hours using a different email address. If you still don't get a sign up email, ??????, I have no idea, but this has happened to me! I stomp my feet in discouragement , then foget it, move on and find another site.
My Paid Email Page Is Giving Me An Error Saying That The Page Cannot Be Found
This is one of the most frustrating things I have run across. Sometimes the domain name expires and it takes up to two weeks for them to renew it and get the site up and running again. Wait it out for a couple of weeks and keep trying every few days. If the link is still not working, it's highly likely that the site has gone 'belly up' or closed because of lack of funds. 'Did I just loose all my earnings?', you may be asking yourself. The simple answer is yes! If you are new to a site, don't wait too long to cash out until you are comfortable that the site is stable. You can usually tell when a site is running into trouble, because the paid e-mail sent will start to decrease and you will start seeing a lot more 'lower' paying links. This means that the site is likely trying to stay afloat, but if it is a site that does not have several other sites...it could well mean that it is going downhill fast! Don't panic, just make sure you cash out often, instead of letting your funds grow. I have lost $1.00 or $2.00 quite often because a site has closed. It can be devastating, because it takes so long just to make that $1.00. Time to move on to the next promising site!
I Cashed Out, But The Site Never Paid Me
Yep, that has happened to the best of us!Before signing up for a site, you should always check to make sure it is not on the 'Blacklist' of sites that do not pay. Most sites that pay more than 10 cent per link are scams. Here is a great link that lists these blacklisted sites.

Forums - An Important Place To Go Before Signing Up For Any Program, Especially One That Wants You To Invest Money
I can not stress enough the importance of forums when you are involved in any money making opportunities on the Internet. A forum is a general discussion site where you can read several posts by people like you and me!!! You can also join these sites and post your own positive or negative experiences. I find these forums more reliable than the blogs. There are so many of these forums out there and when I need quick answers, I go to a major search engine, type in the name of the program with the word forum. I just recently did this with a data entry program that looked real promising, but wanted me to invest $50.00. I simply typed the words 'data entry forum' in the search box and knew within two to three hours that I would not be investing in what had looked like a really great money making opportunity.
Get Paid Forum - This is a forum or discussion where you can view or post comments from PTR Sites. I found this site courtesy of the old 10-ads site and was able to find out the information on a 'lost' paid e-mail site. Are you having trouble with one of your PTR sites? These forums are the best places to find out if you are unique to a problem or not. You can also find posts on the good and the bad PTR sites! You will need to register with this site to use it, but do not need to enter any personal information other than your email address.
Back To Main Page Disclaimer - These are my personal observations and opinions. They are only meant to help and are not intended to cause misconceptions or harm to any PTR sites. I have tried to explain everything as accurately as I can.. The information provided may or may not be useful or completely accurate for each individual PTR site. Please check out the terms of the individual PTR sites.
